Everyone thinks you are fine...
You are very good at making sure of it.
You have the answer ready before anybody asks. The job gets done, the house runs, and you are the one people ring when their own thing goes wrong. What none of them know is that you were awake at two going back over a conversation from Tuesday, checking what you might have given away.
Whatever yours is, you have got very good at keeping the version of you that everyone believes in up and running, and it is taking more out of you than it used to.
This is a free twenty minute recording with a workbook alongside it. It puts a name to what you have been doing all these years and why it got so hard to stop. It does not ask you to do anything about it yet.
You will not have to tell anybody anything to watch it. There is nothing to fill in, nobody to speak to and no group. You put your email in, the recording arrives, and you watch it whenever suits you.
Pop your email in below and the recording is yours π³π€
WHAT YOU COME AWAY WITH
A name for what you have been doing. You have been calling it being private, or being busy, or just the way you are, and the right word for it changes what you can do about it.
Why it got harder rather than easier. Shame builds on itself, so keeping something in for twenty years costs you more than the thing itself ever would have.
The difference between guilt and shame, and which one you are carrying, because they want completely different things from you.
Your way in makes no odds. Once you are in shame it feels the same whoever you are, so there is nothing to work out about whether yours counts.
In twenty minutes you will be able to look straight at the thing you have been managing around, with words for it and a clear idea of what it has been costing you, and that is where it starts.
WHO I AM
I am Steph. I have a psychology degree, a Masters in leadership and ICF accreditation, and more to the point, I spent twenty years doing exactly this.
My work sits in the places people hide most, which is usually shame and guilt, and the story that got built to keep them covered. I am warm and curious, and I ask the kind of questions that keep working on you long after we have stopped talking, and there tends to be more laughing than people expect, because this is heavy enough already without me adding to it.
IN THEIR WORDS
βShe didn't tell me what to do. She asked the questions that brought me round to what I really wanted.β JH
βI'm finally 'out' with my family.β Amy
